APOLLO BAY

Known as Paradise by the Sea, Apollo Bay is a charming seaside town that is very well serviced with gourmet restaurants, cafes, take-aways, hotels, butcher shop, pharmacy, medical center, newsagency, dress shops, gift shops health food shop and supermarkets.

Its sweeping sandy white beaches and rolling green hills make it the perfect place to spend the day. Dogs are welcome on the beaches of Apollo Bay, with some restrictions applying over the Xmas holidays.

Apollo Bay hosts a local market each Saturday morning, that features hand made crafts and food and a selection of plants and giftwares.

For a view that will leave you breathless, take a climb to the top of Marriners Lookout. It's breathtaking both by day and by night and the perfect spot for a picinic.

A short drive down Barham Valley Road will take you deep into a valley lined with towering Gum Trees. At the end of the road you can follow a 3km return walking path along the meandering Barham River finally arriving at the spectacular Marriners Falls. There are a number of creek crossings without bridges, so waterproof shoes are advised if you don't want to get your feet wet.
